Roll Forming Machines

Toolgrove offers Roll Forming Machine. This is a chipless, cold forging process, which forms the relevant external profiles over required lengths. It does so by the plastic deformation of the job material. Threads and splines so formed have improved physical characteristics, accuracy and consistency. Cold form rolling is extensively used in: automobile engineering (critical threaded parts, e.g., tie rod ends; splines in steering shafts, steering worms, brake shoe can crank webs); industrial fasteners; textile machinery-fluted rollers; and industrial valve stems. Improved physical characteristics of the rolled jobs include: increase in tensile strength due to cold working of the surface; and enhanced shear strength and strip resistance due to absence of tears and cutter marks, and also due to surface layers being stressed in compression. With controlled and well finished (drawn, turned or ground) job blanks, and a rigid machine set-up, rolling produces uniform and accurate threads to international standards.
