Reconditioning of hydraulic cylinders

Metequip Engineers undertakes to solve problem faced by the user industries of hydraulic cylinders thereby resulting in considerable savings in costs and also lead times, which, in turn means lower down times and higher production levels. Hydraulic cylinders up to bore dia of 600 mm and stroke lengths up to 6000 mm can easily be reconditioned. If the damage to the inside surface of the cylinder barrel is extensive, then it is replaced. However, if the damage is not so high, the inside surface can be machined and honed to a higher size. Seals of higher size are used the piston rods are ground to remove scratches and hard chrome plated to original size. The cylinders are reassembled, tested and despatched to customers. The company also has special expertise in reconditioning hydraulic cylinders used for slide gate systems in steel plants. Slide gate is a mechanism, which is mounted on the bottom of ladles, which are used to teem liquid steel into tundishes or moulds. Hydraulic cylinders which are used for actuating the slide gate mechanism are exposed to heat radiation and typically the temperature of the hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic cylinder is in the range of 350?C to 400?C. Special seals developed for high temperature applications are used for this application.
