Pumps for acidic slurries / Corrosive chemicals

Superslick offers UHMWPE vertical pumps with a unique double mechanical seal system most suitable for highly acidic slurries as well as for corrosive chemicals. The unique design eliminates the problems associated with horizontal pumps and submersible pumps. All wetted parts are moulded to shape in UHMWPE, the toughest plastic having unmatched wear resistance. The pumps handle widest range of corrosive chemicals at sub-zero to 95?C. The pump is specially designed for filter press feeding for separating solids from the corrosive fluid. Being a centrifugal pump, it helps in faster filling of filter press, thus reducing cycle time and increasing production. Unlike a horizontal pump fitted with double seals, this pump does not require an elaborate and expensive high pressure barrier fluid for the double seal in fact, the slurry does not come in contact with the seal when pump is in running mode as it is fitted in low pressure area. Auxiliary impeller (reverse thrower) in the seat area expels the slurry out back to the suction stream thus prolonging seal life. Special heavy duty thrust & self-aligning bearings fitted in two-piece bearing frames ensure sturdy and durable performance. Pump is fitted vertically near the bottom of the suction tank with positive suction head. Pump has inbuilt bye-pass that protects the pump at zero flow such as when the filter press is full. This is a unique feature of this pump, field-proven at several dyes related filtration systems. The pump is equally suitable for slurry handling and for acids.
