Press tool grade polyurethane elastomer

Industrial Supply Bureau has developed special press tool grade polyurethane elastomers. This is a versatile engineering material designed to provide combination of properties not available in conventional rubber, which was being used for metal forming tools, blanking tools, etc. Most often indifferent results are obtained because of insufficient mechanical resilience and susceptibility to damage by shop floor lubricants. This wonder material has significant properties over conventional rubbers: provides highest resistance to rupturing, outstanding elasticity, prolonged life span when right selection is made, and metal forming lubricants have no damaging effects. Press tool grade polyurethane elastomers can be used in almost all kind of press tools involving piercing, blanking, forming embossing and coining operations. It provides excellent safety under working condition, as there is no coil bound due to its elasticity property. There is no sudden breaking up as is in case of coil springs, no possibility of running tool in damaged condition hence no damage to toolings through over loading. Use of polyurethane elastomers in press tools reduces noise level in press shop due to its property of shock absorbing. In addition to its use in press tools it can also be used in press brake acting as bottom die replacing costly metal die only, profile punch will provide profile in the sheet. Polyurethane elastomers can also act as stripper plate in conventional press tools. All CNC turret punch presses are using stripper bushes out of polyurethane elastomers, comprising of rods, tubes, bushes, sheets, pads and stripper bushes for CNC turret punch presses. Green colour bushes are out of special press tool grade polyurethane elastomers.
