Presettable Counter

Electro Control offers Presettable Counter (Augur Filler Controller), Model PDC 03. This is an augur filler controller, a precision, high speed electronic counter designed for accurately controlling the fill quantity of augur based filling machines for powders, slurries and liquids. This is achieved by accurately counting and controlling the number of revolution made by the feeding auger. The system comprises of: an infrared sensing head and presettable counter PDC 03. Operating principle: the required number of revolution of the augur is set by thumbwheel switches. The inferred sensing head scans the slot in the encoder disc mounted on the rotation augur shaft and transmits pulse to the counter unit. The counter unit operates the clutch to start the filling operation and operates the brake to stop the filling operation. When the preset number of revolutions has been made, the clutch is de-energised and the brake is energised. Highlights: fill accuracy independent of motor speed fluctuation; in-built 24 V DC supply for clutch and brake; solid state relays for operating clutch and brake; manual/auto mode to start filling, with idle timer 0.5 to 5 seconds; overshoot indication for monitoring brake accuracy; unaffected by electromagnetic interference; and infrared sensing head life of over 50,000 hrs.
