Precision lathes

Saurashtra Central Industries manufactures Precision lathes. These precision machines are available for light and heavy-duty. The bed is prepared with special close grained casting. It is designed with hyperbolic ribs (HMT type bed design) to avoid torsional stress. In this design a machine can take heavy load without any vibration and most accurate workmanship is available. Grinding, planning and machining of the bed is done on imported grinder maintaining the parallelism throughout the bed length. The head stock is V-belt driven with two heavy SKF taper roller bearings, fitted on main spindle. The head stock spindle, induction hardened and double grind finished, is of special alloy steel and is precisely ground to close tolerances. The saddle is designed with rigid seating on inverted V and flat ways of bed movement, having large bearing surface on the bed ways. Accurate collers are fitted to cross slide and compound slide attached with wedges for easy adjustment. The apron is designed in double wall type with independent drive motion for feeds and screw cutting with inter locking arrangements oil distribution device have been arranged for lubrication of all movable parts. Tailstock is mounted on independent guideways of bed is of robust design, provides efficient support to the job and is securely locked by means of bolt acting on grip plate under the bedways. The tailstock base is scraped and suited to the bed guideways, and the tailstock spindle is hardened is internally and externally degree ground.
