Plain rectangular tank transformer

Argo Transformers Company Private Limited makes rectangular tank transformers with tightly wound coils to sustain external and internal mechanical stresses. The transformer tank is of robust construction and is built of electrically welded mild steel plates with adequate stiffness to prevent bulging during service. All joints in the tank and its fittings are oil leak proof. The tanks are pressure tested at 7 PSI to ensure leak proof. The tank design is such that the core-coil assembly can easily be lifted freely. Pressed steel radiators are welded/bolted to the main tank for cooling of the transformers. The core is made out of high quality imported Cold Rolled Grain Oriented (CRGO) silicon steel laminations of m4 grade/0.27 mm thickness and is coated with magnesium silicate phosphate insulation on both sides. The core is rigidly clamped with positive locking device to ensure adequate mechanical strength to support the windings and also to prevent shifting of laminations during transport and further to reduce vibrations to a minimum during operations. The windings are made of rectangular or round sections of electrolytic grade copper covered with several layers of age resisting insulation paper or enamel coating of high dielectric strength.
