PID self-tuning temperature controller

Procon Systems PID self-tuning temperature controller, the PXR4, with new and improved features, from Fuji Electric Co Ltd, Japan. This 1/16 DIN temperature controller includes an LED display that is 1.6 times larger than other previous models with dust-proof front display and operational section that is waterproof and conforms to NEMA-4X (IP66). Both auto-tuning and the more advanced, self tuning functions calculate optimum PID parameters. Fuzzy control is a standard feature suppressing overshoot without lengthy start-up time and improving the response to external disturbances by quickly reverting to set points. A standard feature included in the PXR4 is the 16-segment ramp/soak. The digital input option that can be added to the PXR4 allows the operator to remotely change between two set points, start/stop the control action, start/reset the ramp/soak, start stop the auto tuning, cancel the alarm latch, or start the incorporated timer. The PXR4 controller offers additional options such as: timer function, heating/cooling control, heater burnout alarm, and the free, standard 16-segment ramp/soak function feature. Relay, SSR driver and 4-20mA outputs may be chosen. The PXR4 accepts temperature and process inputs, and offers two control output alarms and two programmable alarms. Daisy-chaining up to 31 controllers on an RS-485 network is an option with the PXR4. Using a PC, the operator is then able to monitor all 31 controllers via the industry standard MODBUS communications protocol. It comes with a one year warranty and complete technical and support services for the lifetime of the product.
