Synapsis Techno Instruments, a Mumbai-based company, offers an overload detector for hoists, Model Ron 1000, manufactured by Eilon Engineering, Israel introduces. Ron 1000 features electromechanical overload detector, and an electrical switch. The dimension of the unit is such that there is minimum headroom loss. It is designed with 5:1 safety factor. Each unit is test certified proof loaded to 200% of capacity. The detector is designed to be installed on the dead end of chain or wire rope or can be used directly between the hoist and trolley. Ron 1000 device is supplied factory calibrated and ready for installation. It is available in wide variety of capacities from 250 kg to 10,000 kg. Each unit is initially adjusted to give the user an overload indication at 10% rated capacity. A unique option is also available: approach to safe working load, which will allow the operator to be warned at 95 % of the crane's capacity. The overload detector may be configured to trigger any desired electrical alarm supplied by the customer including stopping the lift when unsafe condition is detected.
