OptiMil adaptive control

Omat Control Technologies manufactures OptiMil adaptive controls useful for measuring cutting conditions and adjusting feed rates for optimising the machining process. These controls operate on learning or preset mode. In both cases, the device adjusts feed rates in real time according to cutting conditions including varying geometries and material hardness. This saves cycle time and tool cost. OptiMil?s built-in Expert System stops the feed in case of overload and protects tools and work pieces during cutting. Recording tool-performance data on all the tools used is another important of OptiMil. As a complete solution package, OptiMil includes a terminal board that is typically installed inside the machine-operator panel or the electrical panel, depending on the configuration. This board constitutes OptiMil's interface with the CNC and the machine.
