MULTI SPINDLE DRILLING MACHINES

Patson Technical Services offers Multi Spindle Drilling Machines, MSD 100. The head construction is geared or gearless, fixed or adjustable centres. Number of spindles is limited with geared construction and generally PCD pattern. In gearless construction, any random orientation of spindles and any number of spindles can be accommodated. Multi-spindle tapping is possible with all these machines. However the machines are to be suitably equipped with necessary electricals and toolings. Optional features with autofeed, cycles such as peck feed drilling, skip feed for spot facing or dwell can be provided. Workholding fixtures are designed to suit components multiple components loading can be done for increasing productivity. Also rotary or shuttle indexing fixtures can be offered. Work clamping is normally done by self clamping springloaded jig plate. Other methods including pneumatic/ hydraulic clamping are used as required. All the above machines can be used for drilling, reaming, spotfacing, counter boring, counter-sinking, etc., with suitable tools. In lifting table machines the components is mounted on the work table ant the table is lifted up against the drills. In machines with auto feed, rapid and feed strokes can be set by limit-switch. Typical drilling cycle is rapid approach, changeover to feed at present and rapid return after preset depth.
