Motorised probe head

Renishaw Metrology Systems Pvt Ltd has introduced motorised probe heads to further enhance probe system performance on CMMs. PH10T is a motorised probe head for automated machines, offering users fast and automated inspection. Probe sensors can be oriented in 720 positions with repeatability of 0.5 ?m (0.00002 inch) and the angular increment is 7.5 degrees. This allows access to all features to be measured and optimises system performance. Operating with two axes of movement, the PH10T enhances CMM performance by giving a 3-axis machine a 5-axis capability. The extra torque within the PH10T, up to a recommended maximum of 0.45 Nm, allows the head to carry long extension bars, including the new 300 mm (11.8 inch) length PEL4, giving access to normally inaccessible work piece features.
