Motor Condition Monitors

PMI Associates offers Motor Condition Monitors. It is based on Model Based Fault Detection (MBFD) system of predictive maintenance. It increases productivity levels and reduces downtime. It has been developed for preventive and predictive maintenance in three phase electric motors of all powers and sizes to reduce unexpected and costly down time. By connecting the monitor with just the voltages and currents, it is able to warn not only of developing electrical faults in the driving motor but also of mechanical faults in both the motor and driven system. No other transducers, etc., are required. Faults are displayed as simple messages accompanying LED status indications. An RS-485 port allows connection to a computer for centralised monitoring or to other intelligent devices (e.g., a PLC or SCADA system) for continuous control and display purposes. It is very easy to install and easy to use device which prevents unplanned downtime on motor-based equipment. The monitor continuously monitors electric motor-based machinery and equipment (fans, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, press machines, conveyors, etc) and has the ability of detecting failures (imbalance, misalignment, bearing problems, rotor and stator faults, leakages, valve and vane adjustments, isolation and other electrical problems) in these systems, at the early stage of fault development using only voltage and current measurements. These monitors are designed and manufactured for 3-phase AC electric motor-based machinery and equipment.
