Machine tool probes with high data rate

M & H Inprocess Messtechnik GmbH, Germany offers HDR Infrared Probes, which provide interference free infrared transmission "second generation" probes for machine tools. Error free transmission of signals between probe and receiver is the main criteria for the reliable function of probing systems. First generation probes use simple transmission protocols without any error checks. Signal errors occur due to interference caused by lights both inside and outside the machine randomly causing probes to change status or even loose data in between probing cycles. HDR probes from M&H use signal frequencies outside the frequency of the AC power supply of outside lighting. For errors caused by lights inside the machine, HDR probes use multiple signal evaluation with very high pulse rates of 9600 pulses/sec to cope with interference. Combined with the proven "half ball" probing mechanism, which provides outstanding probing solutions far exceeding present solutions.
