Long Bed Lathes

Haas Technical Center offers Long-Bed Lathe, SL-20L. It is equipped with an A2-6 spindle nose and 8.3" hydraulic chuck, with a bar capacity of 2". A programmable hydraulic tailstock provides support for long work pieces, and a ten-station bolt-on style tool turret is standard, with options for a VDI turret or hybrid VDI/bolt-on turret. Features: 20-hp (peak) vector dual-drive system; spindle delivers 154 ft-lb of torque for heavy cutting, & speeds to 4,000 rpm for finish work and high surface feed rates; the wye-delta switching provides the high torque and wide constant-horsepower band necessary for constant-surface-speed cuts; and for more capacity a big bore option is available without moving up to a larger machine.
