This stainless steel switch is insensitive to build-up, turbulence and gas bubblesThe Liquiphant T FTL 260 is a universal limit switch for liquid level detection. It can be used as an alternative to float switches as well as in applications where build-up, turbulence, liquid flow and gas bubbles are present. A typical application is as dry-run protection for pumps in pipes. The FTL 260 can be directly connected to miniature contactors, solenoid valves or programmable logic controllers (PLC).The symmetrical vibrating stainless steel (1.4571) fork is excited to its resonant frequency, which changes when immersed in liquid. The change is registered by the electronics that actuate an electronic switch. The Liquiphant FTL 260 can be operated in both minimum and maximum fail-safe mode, i e the electronic switch opens on reaching the limit value in cases of fault or power loss. Power supply of the output AC version is 19-253 V, 50/60 Hz and that of DC version is 10-55 V, 0-400 Hz. Switching time is approximately 1.0 s when covered and free, and the hyteresis is approximately 4mm with vertical mounting. Residual voltage and residual current of the output DC version are less than 3 V (with closed transistor) and 0.1 mA (with open transistor), respectively. The current consumption is maximum 4 mA for AC version and maximum 15 mA for DC version.
