Lever Type Limit Switches

Speedage Engineers offer Lever Type Limit Switches. They are used for Heavy duty E.O.T. Cranes, Wagon shunting devices etc. to prevent over travel or traverse on power & control circuit up to 500V.A.C. (50 cycles/ second) and 40 amps continuous current. When used as shunt limit switch the maximum permissible frequency of operation is 1000 operations per hour. When used as series Limit Switch the maximum permissible frequency of operation at rated current is 720 operations per hour. The Limit Switch normally remains closed and cuts off power to stop the motor of the crane. It operates when it reaches a predetermined position when the lever is moved over a projecting member fixed on the grinder. It is fitted with 4 sets of contacts which cuts off 2 phases of the motor in either direction and is suitable for 500 V. 50 cycles/seconds A.C. Supply systems. Its contacts are automatically reset when the lever returns to zero position due to spring action. The housing is made of sheet steel suitably reinforced to give exceptional rigidity. The cam shaft is mounted in the housing on moulded bushes (bearings) of synthetic material fixed to the front and rear walls. These bearings do not require any lubrication. The Limit Switches are also made in IP-54 enclosure. The housing is made of Cast Iron/ Cast Aluminium. The base and cover have machined surface to protect against dirt and dust. The cams themselves are moulded from the highest quality synthetic material and are accurately cut to correspond to the switching sequence. The cams have exceptionally long life. The Limit Switch contact body is made of high grade melamine suitable for heavy duty, non tracking and is capable of withstanding heavy arcing. The contacts have a maximum continuous current capacity of 40 amps at 500 V.A.C. The contact tips are made of high grade silver cadmium oxide alloy.
