Laboratory Services

Central Manufacturing Technology Institute offers Laboratory Services. The services includes: 1. Metrology & Calibration: calibration of various measuring instruments and gauges are offered besides dimensional and geometric measurement of parts on sampling or regular basis. The facility includes CNC co-ordinate measuring machine, roundness measuring machine, surface roughness tester, electronic comparator, gauge measuring equipments, electronic level, digital height gauge and other precision measuring instruments. 2. Material Testing: equipped with optical emission spectrometer, metallurgical microscope, image analysing system, etc., for content analysis of ferrous and non ferrous materials, material structure analysis in terms of grain size, porosity, etc. 3. Machine Tool Testing: calibration of CNC as well as conventional machines at the firm"s premises for straightness, flatness, squareness, alignment checking, etc using laser measurement and ball bar systems. 4. Consultancy Services: Consultancy services are offered in the manufacturing field. 5. Training Services: scheduled training programmes either at Rajkot centre or at Bangalore are offered. Special programmes could also be organised to suit an individual firm or a group of similar industrial units. In case, the need of calibration of any other dimensional measuring equipments and measurements not covered above or for any specific metrology problems. CMTI Regional Centre, Rajkot will coordinate with its parent organization, CMTI, Bangalore. The metrology laboratories at CMTI are accredited by NABL (National Accreditation Boards for Calibration Laboratories) for its measurement capabilities. CMTI with its expertise in measurements will help to solve any measurement problem of industries in and around Rajkot.
