E2Technology Corporation, USA, produces infrared thermometers - Pulsar Model 7000SR that can be mounted on the horizontal diameter (not greater than +35 degree) perpendicular to the vessel on refractory, or adjacent to the burner on the checker wall or tube sheet. The SOF-8 swing-out fixture mounts up to a 3 inch 150 or 300 pounds valve connected to the furnace via a spool with purge connection. Minimum purge rates for downstream and viewport are 10 and 1 SCFM, respectively. The housing of the unit includes a cavity for water or vortex aircooling when ambient temperatures exceed 125 degree F (50 degree C). Flex lines should be used for power input and signal output.
