IGBT Snubber Capacitors

Neotroniks offers IGBT Snubber Capacitors, KP-71. It is used in power semiconductor circuits for energy conversion, in high power inverters, power conditioning systems, controllers, electric vehicles, induction heating and in motor control to suppress or attenuate undesired voltage peaks. Its main application areas are: IGBT module protection, thyristor protection, resonance SMPS and other high pulse applications. The unique element design with no internal wire connection offers the following benefits to the power electronics design engineers: extremely low ESL eliminates spiking; polypropylene dielectric system ensures extremely low dissipation factor, resulting in very low ESR, thus increasing current carrying capacity; and heavy peak current handling capacity, directly resulting in a high dV/ dt rating. It is presently available in value and voltage ratings mentioned below: 0.1mF to 3mF in 1000 V DC rating; and 0.1mF to 1mF in 2000 V DC rating. The capacitors with 1000 V DC rating can be used up to 450 V AC and the 2000 V DC ratings can be used up to 630 V AC - safe for operating temperature up to 60°C.
