Hydraulic actuators for valves

Leonardo Engineering manufactures hydraulic actuators for valves. Valve, whether of butterfly, gate, globe or plug type, needs power driven actuators. Hydraulic actuators offer a number of advantages over other actuators like variable control of the rate of operation, freedom from fire hazards, flexibility, etc. The turning of the valve spindle of a gate valve or the disc of the butterfly valve is achieved through an intelligent combination of electricals, hydraulics and mechanics. The closing of the butterfly valve is achieved with counter weight or accumulators and this makes the valve "fail safe". The hydraulic force generated through a hydraulic power pack achieves the opening of the valve. A number of special features can be provided to make the actuator very reliable and sophisticated.
