Flexible Building Block for Transfer Lines

Heller has developed a new building block that fits into its line of flexible system transfer machines. The module called FST-CL 160 yields increases in transfer machine speed, flexibility and production. The module enables drastically shortened operation times achieved by using linear motors for each axis. The linear motor axes have rapid traverse rates of up to 80 m/mm and acceleration rates of ten to 15 m/s2. The spindle accepts HSK63 tools and is powered by 36 kW at 16,000 RPM. The rotary indexing table has a speed of 100 RPM. The module integrates several machining operations into shorter cycle times. Together with the uni-Pro CNC 90 control and Digi Drive system it can be used to form a transfer machine with fewer highly utilized stations.
