Onward Technologies Limited offers Mastercam Mill - a mill associative CAD/CAM design tool. This comes with design and drafting for: 2-1/2 to 3-axis machining; highly efficient dynamic milling; tombstone programming/multiaxis positioning; and roll die supports simultaneous 4-axis with mill1 application. 3D high speed OptiRough removes large amounts of material quickly. The tool takes an aggressive depth cut, followed by a series of quick up-cuts, then repeats the process at the next depth; 3D high speed OptiRest uses Mastercam's new stock model to identify and efficiently machine areas that need to be roughed with a smaller tool; and toolpath refinement a new filter added to all 3D toolpaths that creates dramatically superior finish redistributes toolpath node points to avoid objectionable patterns. The 3D advance toolpaths refinement helps to optimise cycle times and produce better finish with 3D surface toolpaths; and 3D hybrid finishing toolpath addresses steep, shallow areas utilizing both scallop and constant Z approaches in a single toolpath, switches seamlessly between both methods and cuts in a logical optimised order. Using the machine tool already in use, there are two components that will make the greatest impact: the tool and the software.
