Compact Mechanical Speed Variators

Novatec offers speed variators--Models Nova 2, Nova 5, Nova 10 and Nova 20--that deliver infinitely variable stepless speed ranges at the output shaft while the unit is running. The variator is in-built with AC motors of 0.25 HP 0.5 HP, 1 HP and 2 HP rating. The prime mover can also be of different modes instead of AC motor where an input shaft is provided. The torque range is 350 Nm to 1,500 Nm, depending on the model. If the input speed is 1,440 RPM, different output ranges between 1,000 and 15 RPM can be achieved with different built-in reductions. The output speed range is in the ratio of 1:5. In these compact models, the output ranges vary in proportion to input speed. The unit is free from vibrations and noise with reliable speed holding and smooth drive. The variator is totally enclosed and claimed to be ideal for operation in hostile environment and is practically maintenance free. It delivers very high torque for the same power input which results in significant saving of power. The output speed can be varied while the unit is running by rotating an easily accessible knob at the top of the unit. The variators can be supplied either in foot or flange mounting. They find wide application in industries including textile, chemical, paper, packaging, bottling, pharmaceuticals, etc. These will be of special interest to manufacturers and users of conveyor systems, packaging machinery, automation lines, feeders, agitators, etc.
