Automatic Web Tension Control Systems

Srim Automation has in-house technical capability to manufacture Automatic Web Tension Control Systems. These consist of powder brake, tension transducer and automated tension controller. The company has systems in 5 kg.m, 10 kg.m, 20 kg.m and 40 kg.m systems. Power consumption of the coil is less than 40 W. Self cooled, fan cooled or chill water cooled, hollow shafted or extended shaft type of powder brakes are available, capable of replacing any Indian or imported make. The major benefits are, set value of tension is maintained constant during the process. Wastages are reduced since the roll can be used until last few layers. Line speed can be increased. Constant tension helps in reducing major shift in process, which normally occurs when frequent adjustments are done with manual systems. Payback period is usually between 6 months to 2 years depending on type of material used, machine speed, etc. The product is used in web offset printing machines, rotogravure printing machines, coating and lamination machines, flexo printing machines, paper flexo ruling machines, computer stationery forms making machines, power transformer and welding transformer making machines, and process industries of paper, wire, cloth, plastic film industries, etc. Also available powder clutches.
