Assembly System, Polyfeed Standalone

The Polyfeed Standalone – Mikron's newest addition to its assembly system product family – is an engineered, standalone patented part feeding system based on the use of a Cartesian robot, a vertical vibration system and a vision recognition system to identify parts in their various forms and feeding positions. In 1998 Mikron collaborated with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology to start the development of a flexible feeding system. In 2001, the company introduced the original Polyfeed integrated in the Mikron Syfast robotic cell. This version used the Cartesian robot of the cell and was able to work with a maximum speed of 30 parts per minute. The Polyfeed Standalone utilises state-of-the-art technology such as linear motors for the Cartesian robot, evolved vision and vibration technology and a self-contained advanced software package.
