Aluminium Porosity Checker

Dynarad Corporation, USA, introduces DynaVac, an aluminium porosity checker. It provides a very quick and effective method for determining the amount of dissolved hydrogen gas contained in a sample of molten aluminium. It has been specially designed for rough use in foundries and die casting plants. The DynaVac features a heavy duty aluminium vacuum chamber with a thick, sealed acrylic viewing port, instead of an easily breakable glass bell jar. The metal is tested in the form of a cup. A compressed air vacuum transducer speeds up the vacuum pumping process by eliminating the conventional motorised pumps, thereby reducing significantly the initial investment, running costs and maintenance. No electric power is required. Porosity is measured by a visual check. Customers normally take photographs of different samples, and then rank them. Operators can then be told what level the samples must be better than, in order to pass the test.
