Caire Consult offers Conaire Variable Air Quality Station, Model VAQs. This is an air measuring control damper that utilises rapid average pitot tube for airflow measurement and low leakage volume control damper for volume control. The VAQ station can receive demand signal from occupancy, or CO2 sensor for optimised indoor air quality as per ASHRAE standard 62.1. It can be couple with a thermostat for effective in room zone control. Every VAQ station comes standard with honeycomb patterned airflow straightener. Thus its whole assembly is self sufficient for accurate and reliable air-flow measurement, i.e., there is no need for any additional straight length apart from a length supplied with the VAQ station. It also means that the VAQ can be used for non-ducted applications such as outdoor air intake, etc., or instances where air has been brought into the system from a free area. With its highly efficient DP sensor, the VAQ station is also ideal for low velocity applications. It also gives airflow feedback in terms of 0-10 V DC or 4-20 mA analog signal, so this signal can be routed to our integrator board to get a control signal for air handler drives. Thus the system does not require any additional static sensor to control the air handler drives. Each VAQ station is dynamically balanced at the company’s state-of-the-art facility, thus ensuring accuracy in performance and enabling fabrication to site specific customised sizes, thereby eliminating the need for any additional transition piece for installation. Which means that every Conaire VAQ station has an ease of installation built-in.
