Screw & Barrel Segments For Twin Screw Extruder

Malik Engineers manufactures Screw & Barrel Segments For Twin Screw Extruder which is used in Nylon/PVC/PP etc for compounding and also for master batches employing co-rotating twin screw extruders. The co-rotating twin screw extruder is generally fitted with several such screw and barrel elements clamped together for processing task.
Some additives like glass fibers are also added during the compounding process through a side feeder during FRP production. It increases the strength of basic polymer, e.g Nylon, but during processing the screw and barrel segments of twin screw extruder encounter severe abrasive forces and wear and tear is accelerated. These screw and barrel segments are suitable for withstanding heavy abrasion, since special tool steels are used and then hardened and ground to high accuracy. The twin barrel segment is fitted with replaceable liner of hardened and ground tool steel for high service life during compounding process and the barrel housing is usually provided with holes for circulation of cool water for cooling purpose.
All barrel segments are usually held together with precision dowel pins and securely clamped with high tensile fasteners and the screw segments assemble on two central splined shafts and clamped together at end. The profile is accurately machined using imported thread milling machines using CAD/CAM techniques for precise matching and full meshing of elements and are self wiping for no material hold-up and fast colour changes.
