Rotary Air Locks

Air locks are used for feeding materials under vacuum or pressure while sealing in air and gas. The principle of gravity is used for dropping the material in the container. The air locks are used in salt project plants, flour mills, lime industry, pharmaceutical plants and chemical processing industries. These are done with the help of a vaned rotor. The rotor consists of 6 vanes and is available in different diameters as per the requirement of the process. The rotor vanes are different compositions depending upon the materials to be handled. The rotary air lock consists of taper rotor with minimum clearance between vane tip and interior of the body. The rotor can be displaced towards the taper side by 0.5 mm. This is done to ensure perfect air locking considering the wear and tear of the rotor after use. The rotors are driven with the help of standard motor and gearboxes. Models ranging from 6 to 12 are available. The materials of construction can be CI, mild steel, SS 304/316, aluminium, etc.
