Impact/Slider Bed

Clean-Cat Conveyors offers impact/slider bed that extends belt life and reduces downtime and cleanup, by supporting the conveyor belt and cushioning it against the shock of heavy loads and impacts. In addition, a positive seal is formed between the skirting materials, minimising cleanup at the loading area. The fully supported belt is also less likely to be punctured by impact. The clean cat impact/slider bed consists of a series of low-friction, ultra high molecular weight polyethylene bars bolted to thick shock absorbing rubber. This two-piece construction is bolted to a rugged steel support frame, which exceeds all CEMA idler requirements. The UHMW allows conveyor belt to slide easily with virtually no additional drag. Placed directly under a conveyor belt at high impact loading points, the Clean-Cat impact/slider bed absorbs the shock and weight of crushing loads being loaded on the belt, prevents conveyor damage, and dramatically extends system life. Also its modular design allows multiple units to be closely fitted to form the bed length of users’ choice. The Clean-Cat impact/slider bed has no moving parts to wear, no bearings to lubricate, no idler shafts or frames to bend. This means safe, trouble free operation and lower maintenance costs. Easier installation than ever: With the new modular construction, the unit can be installed in pieces, by hand. Special lifting equipment is not required. The impact/slider bed consists of four components: one fixed frame, two wing supports and one centre support. Replacement of individual impact bars is easy, and, as the UHMW and rubber are a bolted connection rather than moulded construction, replacement of only the UHMW is possible (which reduces replacement cost). The company also offers custom bar construction tailored to individual needs. The entire Clean-Cat impact/slider bed can be installed and the impact bars replaced without removing the conveyor belt.
