It finds application in precision machine tools especially in grinding machines, CNC lathes, turning machines, machining centre, etc. It has numerous advantages over the sliding and rolling elements: high speed at rapid traverse rate 4-5 times high stiffness and high load carrying capacity; extremely high accuracy even up to 0.1 µm; high machining precision due to low friction; better surface quality of work piece; longer life by high damping of micro vibrations; higher chip production power due to high damping; permanently free of backlash; free of wear; and PM flow controller instead of capillary tube.
