Airfoil Vanes

Kwality Products manufactures Airfoil Vane. These vanes are used mainly in helicopter engines at compressor stages. Most of the vanes developed are stator vanes of SS321 (AMS-5510)/SS410 (AMS-5613)/ AMS-5604 material. The company has developed more than 30 types of vanes. These are supplied to the vendors of Honeywell and Rolls Royce, USA. Along with airfoil vanes, the company can manufacture sheet metal hollow vanes. In year 2008 it developed a special purpose roll forming machine to manufacture stator bands/rings. Rings with a cone shape can also be manufactured.
Process:

• Rolled raw material procurement (supplied by customer from USA)
• Blanking operation (tooling developed in-house)
• Deburring operation – in-house
• Forming operation – helix angle generation (tooling developed in-house)
• Polishing operation – in-house
• Inspection on profile projector and comparator stand – in-house
• Packing
• Dispatched to customer

The company has implemented ISO 9001: 2000 and is exporting aerospace components (vanes) to USA. It is steered by qualified technocrats, and the general orientation of the company is towards technical excellence, to meet and achieve the quality standards set by the customers. The company implements, the Kaizen (continuous improvement) and 5 S techniques to keep the entire system up to mark.
