Air Bearing Spindles

The ASC Series is a completely new spindle introduced by Precise GmbH, Germany. The range includes: ASC 125 - 15,000 to 1,25,000 RPM; ASC 150 - 15,000 to 1,50,000 RPM; ASC 180 - 30,000 to 1,80,000 RPM; and ASC 200 - 30,000 to 2,00,000 RPM. With the top speed of 2,00,000 RPM, the spindle is faster than any comparable spindles in the market. The output will ensure sufficient power to drill the largest holes and high stiffness air bearing system guarantees to improve the quality of all drilled holes. The design of the air bearing includes a unique stabilising device that significantly improves the high-speed performance. The tried and tested precise collet system with consistent positioning with no need for adjustment guarantees simple maintenance relying on manufactured tolerances and not the ability of the technicians to ensure the accuracy. An air curtain avoids the collet system contaminated by drilling dust. Exhaust air is continually being fed through the slots of the collet. Main benefits include: increased productivity - through fast Z-axis with acceleration up to 5 G through 30% reduced weight and top speed of 2,00,000 RPM; and radically reduced operating expenses - 70% less air consumption compared to existing products available in the market today and excellent dynamic run out because of precise air bearing performance.
