The Cygnet integrating, datalogging, sound level meter 2001 is an indigenous product using state-of-the-art technology. It is very simple to operate and is an ideal and essential tool for noise measurement and data collection in the field. The meter can be used to read spot values, calculate short or long term Leqs, Sel, maxima, and minima. It can be set up and left unattended in the field, to collect data very precisely for pre determined periods at the programmed intervals. This data is retained in the instrument and can be transferred to the PC in the lab/office.The meter has a measurement range of 34 to 134 dB in three scales, each with a dynamic range of 50 dB. The scales are 34 to 84 dB, 54 to104 dB, and 84 to 134 dB. It measures noise with A, C and Lin weightings. Slow, fast and impulse time response is provided on the instrument. It displays SPL, Lmax, Lmin, Leq, Sel and time duration. All these parameters are software selected through the menu and are processed simultaneously, to be viewed sequentially during processing. Ln along with all these parameters are displayed on the PC software after a file is logged and downloaded. It is driven by an internal bank of rechargeable Ni Cd batteries, which are recharged in-situ, by the standard charger, provided with the instrument. It is supplied with a 1/4"electret condenser microphone, a wind shield and a brief case type carrying case, lined with heavy duty foam for providing protection during transit and in the field.
