Due to their beam and pulse characteristics, pulsed YAG rod lasers with powers up to 500 W are especially suited for laser fine welding and fine cutting applications. With pulse peak performances of up to 20 kW even highly reflecting materials can be combined with high melting temperatures, large welding depth and high process speed. Pulsed rod lasers allow at laser fine cutting applications-as for example the manufacturing of stents-finest cuts with kerfs below 15 µm.
