Kwality Photonics offers a range of Blue LED Display product portfolio that includes single digit, multi digit, dotmatrix, lightbars, etc. The prices that were 6 times the cost of standard red LEDs, have now brought down in line with ultrabright red LED displays, opening up a whole new opportunity to add colour and aesthetics to many consumer appliances. The jeweller’s weighing scales, air conditioners, microwave ovens, washing machines will get all new glamorous looks that these 470 nm attractive blue seven segment displays. Customer displays can be developed at short time for appliances and combination colours can be offered for bulk users. Strict die selection and sorting prior to manufacture ensures that the new range is not only stylish and striking in appearance, but is also very consistent, meaning that multiple-digit displays can now be manufactured to the same level of performance that customers would expect from comparable green or red devices. The expanded range now includes: single-digit 7-segment displays (SSDs) from 7.6 to 200 mm character height; dual, triple and quad SSDs in 7.6, 10 and 14 mm variants. Blue dotmatrix displays are available in a very wide range of alternatives with the traditional 30 and 50 mm 5 x 7 modules proving particularly popular. There is a choice of intensity and wavelength in the range, with new variants being constantly introduced. Thanks to the state-of-the-art, 470 nm, InGaN (indium gallium nitride) blue LED technology, designers now have an affordable and reliable alternative to expensive vacuum-florescent displays. Their brilliant, 470 nm wavelength (the truest blue) LED displays are visible in the brightest ambient lighting, but draw less than 0.5 W (85 mA) from a single +5 V supply - that's actually less than most standard red LED displays. High-reliability alternatives to blue vacuum-fluorescent displays, the KLSXXXB Series LED digital meter displays are offered as the first such units to employ silicon-carbide super bright blue LEDs, which deliver economical price/power requirements and are readable from as far away as 20 ft. Previous LED-based displays were comparatively expensive, power hungry, and dim, ruling out their use in instrumentation applications.
