(L&T;) has tied up with EC1 Telecom of Israel for its complete range of synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) transmission products and associated network management systems for distribution in India. The company have high focus towards the design, manufacture and supply of SDH transmission products in STM-1 (155 Mbps), STM-4 (622 Mbps), STM-16 (2.5 Gbps) and STM-64 (10 Gbps) bit rates. These systems are in use in more than 140 countries worldwide (including India), carrying live traffic of voice, data and video. It is perhaps the first in the commercial deployment of STM-1 Add/Drop Multiplexer (ADM), STM-4 and - 16 ADMs in the world. The Syncom Series of SDH products and systems are highly reliable and provide excellent management and traffic routing capabilities. The Series is offered in various models: Micro SDM-l/SDM-lSDM-1C operating 1 at 155 Mbps with full tributary support of 2 Mbps, 34 Mbps, 140 Mbps, SW-1 and video. Model SDM-4/16/64 is primarily field upgradeable system operating in 622 Mbps to 10 Gbps data speeds. All the Syncom Series of SDH systems are man-aged by the comprehensive, user-friendly network management systems like Model eNM and Model eEM. L&T;, Larsen & Toubro Ltd presently involved in telecommunication projects in Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, has developed complete project management skills and expertise in implementing optical communication networks for backbone and access. To become a turnkey solutions provider for India&8217;s telecommunication networks, it has formed Projects Division.
