Punjab Electrical Industries undertakes Rewinding, Repairing and Overhaul of AC motor stators/rotors, alternators, DC motors and DC generators. The company can re-design and upgrade the motors, generators, transformers; and also do re-staggering and re-stacking of the stators and rotors core laminations, replacement/renewal of squirrel cage rotor bars. It is equipped with all relevant testing facilities including Tan-Delta test. Quality of materials and that of workmanship is guaranteed to ensure minimum efficiency loss with a rewound motor. The company also makes pre-formed coils for HT motors, armature and field coils as per the drawing and requirement of the customer. It also undertakes repair and replacement of rotor shafts of various capacities of motors and other rotating equipment. Overhead cranes up to the capacity of 15/20 MT are available to handle the equipment under repair. It is a specialist in repair and re-metallising of worn out shafts by TAFA arc spray, a technology from USA. Dynamic balancing of rotating equipment weighing up to 20 MT capacity at one micron accuracy is done on sophisticated dynamic balancing machines. The company is also engaged in manufacturing of small power distribution transformers up to the rating of 2000 kVA, 11/0.433 kV. It has a wide client base in the northern states of India and several thermal power plants.
