Hazardous Waste Management

Mumbai Waste Management Ltd (MWML) offers Hazardous Waste Management services through Secured Landfill or Incineration Plant. Secured landfill is a double compositive liner system as per CBCB guidelines. Incineration plant: incineration system is a technology which is used to destroy organic waste by thermal oxidation of all hazardous and harmful constituents in the waste; the incineration system installed for MWML is designed by Alstom Power Inc, USA and having thermal capacity of 5.5 MK cal/hr. It is a rotary kiln type incinerator suitable for all types of wastes like solid, liquid and gaseous waste. It is operated automatically with PLC system and connected with continuous emission monitoring system. MWML belongs to Ramky Group and started its operations in October 2002 as a world class Treatment, Storage, Disposal Facility (CHWTSDF) to manage hazardous and bio medical waste disposal. The project was awarded by MIDC to Ramky Group through global tendering and is set up on an area of about 100 acres. The facility has temporary waste stores, intractable waste stores, secured landfill, stabilisation/treatment facility and an incinerator with 100% power backup facilities.
