Physical properties: average particle size: 1.5 to 3.0, 4.0 to 6.0, 6.0 to 9.0 & 9.0 to 15.0, F.S.S.S (Mm) apparent density g/cc: 2.2 to 3.0, 3.0 to 4.0, 3.8 to 5.8 & 4.0 to 6.0. Chemical composition: tungsten (excluded20) as W,%, 99.8 minimum, oxygen content as2O, %: 0.40, 0.30, 0.30 & 0.25 maximum; Iron as Fe, % 0.05 maximum; Molybdenum as Mo, % 0.03 maximum; Silicon as Si, % 0.003 maximum; Sodium as Na, % 0.003 maximum; Potassium as K, % 0.001 maximum and Calcium as Ca, % 0.002 maximum. It is available in 1 kg and 5 kg packing in polythene bags. These powders are mostly used in the manufacture of diamond segments by hot pressing as additives in the metal matrix to improve the diamond cutting ability. Also, these powders are used to manufacture electrical contact and tungsten carbide powders.
