Tap hole filling compound

Metafil-EBT is a carefully graded refractory tap hole filling compound in EBT furnace, which can be tailor made as per requirement of customer"s need. As it possess selected granulometry and high refractoriness, it does not sinter with high ferrostatic head when kept in EBT furnace tap hole cavity. Thus it results in to free flowing of Metafil-EBT when tap hole is opened and it comes out freely or with minor oxygen lancing establishing a very smooth stream of molten metal from the furnace. Depending on tap hole diameter as well as the melting time of furnace, granulometry of Metafil-EBT and chemical composition of it changes. It is applied when free from moisture. This is required to ensure that the material is free flowing in nature just before use. Metafil-EBT is then poured in to the tap hole cavity of the furnace and is ensured that the tap hole cavity is fully filled with it. It should be stored in a dry place to avoid moisture pick during storage.
