It is an important ingredient of microbial feed for the synthesis of antibiotics. It is a white crystalline powder that is odourless and sweet in taste. Specifications: Moisture content at 105 C is 7.5 to 9.5%; Sulphated Ash available is 0.1% maximum; Acidity for 5gms (Max) is 0.125 ml of 0.1 N NaOH; SO2 (Max) is 70 ppm; Specific rotation 10% w/v at 25 degree C + 52.5 to 53 degree C; Arsenic is (Max) 1.0 ppm; Copper is (Max) 2.0 ppm; Lead is (Max) 0.5 ppm; Heavy metals is (Max) 5 ppm; Chlorides and Sulphate passed the test; Dextrins and less soluble sugars passed the test; Bulk density is 0.65 to 0.70. It is available in 25/50 KG HDPE woven sacks with inner liner of LDPE/HMHD. It finds its applications in diversified industry such as in manufacture of food products, pharmacy & bulk drug manufacturing, chemical engineering, bakery & dairy industry.
