Chlorinated Paraffin’s and Chlorinated Paraffin’s Wax are straight-chain hydrocarbons that have been chlorinated. Chlorinated paraffin’s are classified according to their carbon-chain length and percentage of chlorination, chlorination from approximately 35% to greater than 70% by weight. Chlorinating paraffin fractions obtained from petroleum distillation makes chlorinated paraffins. These hydrocarbons are reacted with chlorine resulting in chlorinated paraffin’s of different carbon chain lengths with varying degrees of chlorination. Thus chlorinated paraffin’s are a group of complex chemical substances and are manufactured in batch process.
