Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

Megasonic Industries manufactures an Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge, Model MG5-P. This works on the latest microcontroller technology. It measures wall thickness of almost all metals, alloys, hard plastics, glass and ceramics only from one side. It has a range of 1.5 mm to 200 mm (in steel). MG5-P has facility to switch resolution between ±0.1 mm and ±0.01 mm. All functions are available at the touch of the feather touch keyboard. It has single point calibration along with programmable sound velocity for different materials. It has automatic V-path correction, which provides high accuracy at lower readings. MG5-P is provided with a single built-in calibration master for mild steel. The calibration is achieved with holding the probe on the single calibration master and pressing of the `Auto MS’ key. By pressing the `Mat Cal’ key, the instrument displays the velocity of the material. By changing the velocity with `Arrow’ keys one can change the calibration of the instrument for different materials. Calibration of the material with unknown velocity is also possible. MG5-P with automatic switch-off timer switches off after five minutes of idle use. It’s built in microcomputer saves the last calibration so turn on does not need recalibration of MG5-P. It has battery life of 100 hours with one pack of alkaline pencil cells. Optional demo connectors are also available for probes. The wide range of applications include inspection of raw materials and finished parts for dimensional checks, remaining wall thickness measurements of pipes, tubes and ship hulls for corrosion/erosion monitoring, detect and locate manufacturing defects like laminations in plates, pipes and bars. These are essential instruments for inspection of plates, pipelines, pressure vessels, storage tanks, rolled sheets, dished ends, reactors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, dryers, condensers, boiler coils and tubes, gas cylinders, compressors, ship hulls, kilns, plastic parts, plastic tanks, pumps and valves, etc. These are supplied with NABL traceable calibration certificate and warranted for three years.
