The PR3350 can be used for weighing scales or other applications with sensors connected as a wheatstone bridge in a two-chip solution. This ASIC contains all necessary components for the signal amplification and analog to digital conversion. With the integrated power management both components, the ASIC and the micro controller, will need less than 1 A in standby mode, thus this solution is well suited for battery supplied applications.
A built in driver for 1k or 350 strain gauge bridges changes the polarity of the sensor supply voltage to eliminate all thermoelectric effects, offset and offset drift of the chip-internal operational amplifiers. This leads to an excellent long-term stability and temperature independence and makes the PR3350 insensitive to the supply voltage.
