Magnetic Level Gauge

Magnetic Level Gauges, MLG Series are used for local level indication of costly/corrosive and viscous liquids including water at saturation temperature in tanks or for interface applications in ambient conditions or under pressure and temperature conditions. The float guide pipe prevents sideways movements of float and also sudden movement of float due to turbulence. The level gauges have printed anodised aluminium scale for level indication. These can be of two types: Top Mounting Type and Rolling Magnet Type.

The external chamber side mounting type (80Ø approx or 60Ø approx, 60Ø generally provided for higher specific gravity applications) having 68Ø or 48Ø float with strong built in bar magnet. Cooling strips are provided on chamber / magnet tube in case of high temperature applications up to 300°C (or higher). Switch enclosure is weatherproof / flameproof (IS2148:2004, IIA, IIB or IIC gases).

A float with a built-in magnet moves up & down with the liquid level inside the chamber. The float magnet operates the indication mechanism placed outside the chamber. In case of rolling magnet type, the float magnet rotates the rolling indicating magnets by attraction one by one causing the red painted sides to come in front in the line of vision for clear indication. In case of iron ball follower type, the float magnet carries the PP coated Iron Ball (inside water filled glass tube placed outside) with it and the top surface of the iron ball indicates the liquid level.
