Steel parts, cold forged

Klas Engineering manufactures a range of cold forged steel parts. Cold forging is a versatile process which includes extrusion, ironing, upsetting, coining, etc. Billets, cut to required size, after cheical treatment and lubrication are formed to the required shapes. Advantages include: material savings, reduction in secondary operations, improved mechanical properties, integrated assemblies and excellent surface finish, besides use of cheaper materials. Also unlike hot forging, tolerances comparable to turning can be achieved with cold forging. Special designs which cannot be achieved by any other process are also economically produced. Parts suitable for cold forging include: stepped and tapered parts, thin or thick walls, flanges, open or closed ends, conical, flat or hemispherical ends, parts without taper, webbed parts, internal/external splines, grooves, ribs, etc.
