These specially designed products are available in IS-5873/1970, SAE J 441, ASTM 2431/3/4 and 8 and VDF 8001MIL–S –13165 specifications. The cut wire shots are manufactured by cutting wire into lengths equal to wire diameter. These products are highly durable and can be customised in various specifications. High in versatility, these can be made from various materials, such as stainless steel, carbon steel of various hardness levels, aluminium and zinc. Carbon steel cut wire is a popular alternative to cast steel abrasives, and finds specific niche markets where cast materials do not offer adequate performance, This is particularly true for peening applications where a higher level of abrasive hardness is desirable or when components to be peened have a high level of inherent hardness. Hardness range: carbon steel – 1070; regular – HRC 45-50; standard – HRC 50-55; and high – HRC 55-60. The range includes carbon steel fibres, zinc cut wire shots, copper cut wire shots, brass cut wire shots, stainless steel fibres, stainless steel round shots and cast steel shots.
