Kwality Photonics P Ltd, in its quest to make LEDs affordable, has upgraded the Medium Power LEDs category. The KLSL 2835W and KLSL5630W SMD LED chips offer amazing efficiency of 140 Lumens per Watt at globally competitive cost: 0.2 W, 0.5 W and 1.0 W are realised with currents of 60 mA, 150 mA and 300 mA respectively. KLSL2835W and KLSL5630W is designed with a view to bring down the cost of manufacturing (just two pads to be soldered) and cost of materials (lowest ever cost of LEDs with uncompromised specifications) to the lighting manufacturers. Kwality polyWa 5630W SMD LEDs has the most solder friendly structure – with just two terminals that are long enough for manual soldering. Most of the similar models from competitors have four invisible terminals that are difficult to manage in-house soldering. The KLSL2835W LEDs are now the lighting industry's workhorses due to low cost resulting from large scale production of upstream components and raw materials. Starting with classic 0.2 W 24-28 Lm LEDs for tubelights, the company has expanded the range to 0.5 W 60-65-70 Lm. Even 1 Watt model has become popular riding on the cost advantages of 2835 structures. Kwality's SMD foot print where heat pad is linked to anode, also helps in slashing the solder cost by 50% since it has just 2 solder. Further, in this package the head pad is enlarged so that it connects better thermally for outward passage of heat and keeps the LED cooler.
